Jeeves and the Tale of Abington Chase, Part II
Title: Jeeves and the Tale of Abington Chase, Part II (Part I is here)
Author: Sky Blue Reverie skyblue_reverie
Fandom: Jeeves and Wooster
Pairing: J/W
Rating: NC-17 for explicit non-con
Word Count: Approximately 14,000
Summary: Jeeves tells Bertie about his past. Dark, but also hurt-comfort-y. A sequel to my previous J/W fics, which can be found here. This will probably make more sense if you've read those, but it's not necessary.
Author's Notes: Massive thanks to my beloved betas, rivers_bend, fenriss, weaselwoman13, and the utterly amazing Essie. I would never have posted this without all of your support and reassurance.
Disclaimer: Not mine, and I apologize for the blasphemy against Plum's happy little world. Total fluff next time, I promise!
Feedback: Always greatly appreciated.

ETA: I am deeply ashamed that I neglected to thank all of the wonderful, incredibly generous folks who jumped in to help with Jeeves canon-knowledge on indeedsir. This fandom is truly a fantastic, supportive one, and I couldn't have done it without all of your help. Extra special mega thanks to my darling canon-queen Essie. *blows kisses*

Hee - thanks very much for reading and commenting, and I'm glad you enjoyed them, despite the oddness. *g* I very much appreciate the kind words! Oooh, and I love your icon - Wonderfalls was a great show, and over far too soon. *bows head in reverence* Damn those bastards at Fox.

Aww, thanks yet again. It's always thrilling when someone goes back and reads my older fics and leaves comments - it's like a delightful and unexpected little surprise.

I'm so glad to hear that your own feelings mirrored Bertie's - well, I'm sorry that I made you sad, but I'm glad that his reactions were authentic.

As for what the boys will get up to next, I don't know if you've seen it, but after this they've already been up to a bit more naughtiness, this time involving a billiard table. ;)

I am working on two more J/W fics as well. Thanks so much for your very kind words, old thing - it's much appreciated!

Just splendid
Wow, just...wow. I've read all of your Jeeves and Wooster stuff (an eagerly anticipate more) And I must say that i think you're the best fanfiction writer to ever touch the fandom. The characterizations, the plot, the dialogue it's all spot on. So at the risk of causing old Plum to spin in his grave (well more anyhow) I'll say I think I like your writing better because I'm completely in love with the idea of Bertie and Jeeves as a couple. Please oh please write more! I'm in full worshipping acolyte mode!

Re: Just splendid
*blushes furiously* Oh my goodness, thank you so much, my dear! Really, you can't imagine how much that means to me. I'm actually sort of in shock here at the incredible generosity of your praise! *is struck speechless*

Okay, I'm back. Hee, you never need to worry about me not writing any more, because I am *impossible* to shut up. ;) But please, no worship! *blushes again* I worship with you at the altar of J&W, and like you, I'm in love with the idea of them as a couple. I'll keep writing them in love (and lust!) as long as people will keep reading. *g*

Thanks once again for your incredibly kind words, old thing!

Oh my goodness. What a marvelous story! It has a depth that one doesn't usually see, given the source material, of course, and yet it still rings true. I can see this happening, alas. The poor darlings, but you handled it so well. What a leap of fancy this must have taken to have gone so far from the norm and still have it be Bertie and Jeeves. A lovely continuation of your little universe for them.

Thank you so much, old thing. It was definitely a scary leap to take the innocent Wodehouse universe in this direction, and I've been so grateful at the positive reaction I got - I was half expecting a mob with pitchforks and torches! :)

I really appreciate your kind words, and I'm so very glad that you enjoyed it and felt that it was still our beloved Bertie and Jeeves.

*sniffles* *recovers self*

If someone had described the plot of this story to me and asked if it could be done IC, I would've have laughed. Loudly. But you've written this with such persistent attention to word choice and nuance and all that... This is wholly, purely IC. Congratulations on a supremely well-written fic.

And if you ever stop writing J/W fics, I will personally seek you out and stalk you into writing again.

*grins and laughs evilly* Um, yes, well. (:

*pats you comfortingly, offers tissues*

Thank you so much for your very kind comments. Heh, yes, I can see why you'd have that reaction to hearing about this plot. I'm very glad that I convinced you that it was plausible! IC is absolutely my number one priority, so to hear that it was completely IC for you is very nice indeed.

Hee, feel free to stalk away! I can't imagine ever stopping; I'm completely addicted to these two. As long as the Jeeves-muse stays with me, I'll be writing (extremely porny, kinky) J/W slash. :D I actually just got a bit of inspiration (finallly, hallelujah!) for the sequel to this fic, which will involve the reappearance of Philip.

Anyway, thanks again for all your recent comments! It gives me such a lift to get feedback on my stories, even when they've been posted for a while. Much appreciated! :)

I have no idea where he keeps the blasted things – he hadn't a stitch on, but he still managed to conjure one and mop up the fluids dripping down the Wooster dial.

Oh, thank GOD Jeeves went and pulled that handkerchief out of nowhere at that point, because I seriously needed a laugh! ;)

That was some amazing storytelling. It was very hard to read (God, his poor nose), but the fact that Bertie was there made it tolerable.

You made Jeeves more real for me, and their relationship feels richer. This one's going to stay with me for a long time. Great job. :)

Oh, I'm so glad you got a laugh just when you needed one. :)

I'm really happy that you liked it, even if parts were difficult to read (they were really difficult to write, as well!). I felt bad about torturing poor Jeeves that way, but I'm a total sucker for hurt/comfort, so I got to write Bertie comforting Jeeves and Jeeves comforting Bertie in one fic, which made me happy.

I'm thrilled that I made Jeeves more real for you, and added depth to their relationship. That's exactly what I hoped to achieve, so it makes me happy to hear you say that! And wow, if my story stays with you, that's about the highest compliment I could receive.

Thanks so much for your feedback, it's really much appreciated. :)

This was incredibly well-written. I cried. Poor Jeeves. I had been lurking around the MST House pages and found this quite by accident.

*gives tissues and comforting pats* I'm sorry about the crying, but I'm glad that you thought it was well-written. Heh, this must have been quite a change of pace from the MSTs! :D

I just reread this-so, so touching. But there's one thing I hadn't notice before:

Current Music: Tears in the Rain - Joe Satriani

O_O I can't believe it. I thought I was the only one in the universe (called Belgium) to like that guy! I'm sorry, did I say "guy"? I meant guitar god. Oops. ^^
Ghah. Now I like your work even more. ;D

Ooh, sorry it took me so long to respond! I'm in the middle of a move and all is chaos right now.

Thanks for re-reading and commenting, and Satch is awesome! :D He gets some radio play here in the U.S. but not nearly enough. Oh, you live in Belgium! How awesome. Do you like it?

Ha! You sound disgruntled to like my work more. ;)

Thanks so much for the comment, and sorry again for the belatedness of the response.

I'm enjoying your fabulous series so much. It's like finding a hidden Wodehouse. I believe every word like it was canon. Your Bertie is as fabulously funny as the original, and your secondary characters, like the servants in this one, or like Stiffy, brim with life. It's very fun to have some of the stories from Jeeves POV, too. Well done (6 years later!)

Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much this comment made me grin and blush. It's been such a long time since I've felt inspired creatively at all - it's so nice to be reminded of a time when I was actually writing and enjoying it.

So very glad you're enjoying reading these, and thanks again for taking the time to comment, even (especially!) six years later.
