Trek Fic: Unexpected (Pike/McCoy, PG-13)
So, here's a little prequel to my last fic. There will also be a sequel. At some point. :p

Title: Unexpected
Author: skyblue_reverie
Fandom & Pairing: Star Trek Reboot, Pike/McCoy, Mirrorverse AU
Rating: PG-13ish
Spoilers: None
Warnings: Implied dub-con/non-con between the main pairing.
Word Count: Around 1000
Summary: A prequel to Merger & Acquisition (wherein Pike makes McCoy his consort). How did McCoy end up in that room anyway?
Disclaimer: Any resemblance to anything whatsoever (e.g. a story, the English language) is purely coincidental.
A/N: Thanks and love, as always, to my partner in insanity, ennui_blue_lite.

In Leonard's experience, things that were unexpected were usually bad.Collapse )

Oh, you know Christopher will always get his man, and the fact that Len fights back is what makes him so darn appealing! :D

Thanks, hon! <3

In general, I don't read Mirrorverse because, well, it's Mirrorverse. But I love you and you've never let me down, so I took a chance. And I'm glad I did. I like this version of Mirrorverse (because I remind myself that not even Mirrorverse is static--as long as the general overarching themes apply, it can be somewhat sane or completely cover-one's-eyes nasty). I like Pike has (some) morals/scruples, even if, technically, he's staked his claim and nothing can release McCoy. I like that McCoy knows he's in a losing situation but doesn't roll over like a vanquished animal. But what's up with the cousins turning turncoat? I hope McCoy gets revenge.

Sorry, long comment is long. TL;DR: This is excellent stuff, as usual.

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to respond to this - I was out of town this weekend at a place WITH NO INTERNET. I'm traumatized for life.

Anyway, I'm really glad you gave this a chance and even gladder that you liked it! I would've felt bad if I lured you into reading mirrorverse and you hated it. ;)

Yeah, I like the fact that mirrorverse is kind of flexible too, and supports different interpretations and levels of angst. :) That's a really good question about the cousins - McCoy will no doubt want revenge but Pike owes them a debt for bringing McCoy to him, so he might try to prevent McCoy's planned vengeance. Innnnnnteresting! *thinks sequel-y thoughts*

I never mind long comments! But if you do, the TL;DR version of this is: THANK YOU!
