Post-House Post Party, Vol. II
Hello all! Come on in, discuss this week's episode of House! Meet, mingle, discuss, argue, but keep it civilized, yes? Not everyone here is a right-thinking member of the True Religion wherein House and Wilson are 2getha 4eva and Cammy and her Hairdo of Obscene Ugliness are consigned to the lowest depths of hell. *g*

Oh - I'm needing some serious help, peoples. My stupid Fox affiliate decided to pre-empt House for the stupid baseball game (boo) and I didn't realize until 8:10 that my Tivo was not recording. So I went searching and found that they'd decided to play it on some other channel, but as a result, I missed the first ten minutes. Can anyone fill me in on what I missed in complete, excruciating detail? When I picked it up, House and the ducklings were down in the clinic (?) and House was shouting "fecal matter!" (Sorry to my f-list peeps that haven't seen it, but that's not too much of a spoiler, is it?)

flufshepherd, ennui_blue_lite, and maxine_penborne, I'll see you guys inside! I won't have too much energy for tonight, and you all might already be asleep, so we can continue tomorrow.

The Mellifluous Leaper 182: Only You -- House/Wilsonleaper182 on September 27th, 2006 04:27 am (UTC)
I can sort of remember the teaser -- basically, the autistic kid is with his father, and he's semi-unresponsive, and he draws a squiggle on a chalkboard when his father tells him to point out the bicycle on a little clipboard thingy, or something, and then the autistic kid starts coughing, and then he starts screaming.

Then House and the duckies are talking about the case -- "10yo autistic kid presenting with screaming." "Um, autistic kid. Screaming not diagnostically all that telling." and some other stuff.

And then in another scene, House demands that he get his bloodstained carpet back.

It was a tad weird, but I also don't pay attention to the minute-marks, so I have no idea what else to include.

Yar.

Ooh, thanks for the recap. I was able to pretty much jump in and understand the POTW plot, so I figured I hadn't missed too much. Ha - the screaming line is pretty funny.

So didja like it? I did! I liked the POTW, actually liked the Wilson interactions, and the Cuddy interactions were FANTASTIC! "I'm ovulating, let's go." Hee!

The winding-up of the stalker plot was kind of cheeserific, but oh well, at least it's over. I'm dodging the Cammy/House anvils that they're dropping as fast as I can. NO I DIDN'T SEE ANY HINTS OF HOUSE/CAM AT ALL THIS EP, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE CLANGING OF FALLING ANVILS!

Am I a bad person for just recording House and instead watching Studio 60? And then, instead of watching it now, obsessing over Absolute Power?

Yes, yes you are. (Well, not for the Absolute Power part, just the Studio 60 part).

First ten minutes
First ten minutes, eh? Well, it starts with autistic boy and his father at home studying, then they go out for lunch and the boy starts screaming. House introduces the case to the ducklings, they question the importance, since autistic kids scream all the time, and House defends the case's validity. While he's doing so, he's looking around the room and then leaves while still talking. The ducklings follow him to the clinic where he orders them to do tests and then goes into Cuddy's office.

There's this one bit while they're walking when Foreman says something like, "I went on a date last night and she screamed. Do you think we should have her admitted, too?" And House responds, "No, 'cause this isn't a veterinary hospital. Zing!" Of course, I don't remember the *exact* wording, so I can't do it the justice.

In Cuddy's office, he starts complaining about how she got rid of his carpet and demands she gives the old one back. Argue, argue. House starts chanting 'Attica!' adorably. Then they agree that House either has to live with the new carpet and work in his office, or he'll have to work somewhere else, which is why they were in the clinic, as you witnessed. So House starts doing lots of clinic duty.

We got a nice few clinic patients here. One lady was worried about seeing something in the toilet that she'd "never seen before" and then taking said something out in a tissue for House. There was a guy, too, but I can't remember what his deal was, but I remember House being *very* bored. Then, stalker girl in the clinic. She has 'pain in her chest' and takes off her shirt. After some flirting, Foreman walks in and states test results and then I think that's where you came in.

That's the best I can remember. I'd really suggest watching it for yourself, 'cause I'm not that good at getting everything.

Re: First ten minutes
OH, awesomeness! Thanks! Ha, the veterinary zing is great. While I'm not sure the writers know what they're doing this season in terms of characterization, they sure are bringing the funny! There were several laugh-out-loud moments in this one.

Ewwww, sample in a tissue. Grosssssssss. Ah, stalker in the clinic! I was wondering why House said that he'd seen her boobs. I thought he must be bluffing.

I'll watch it myself, for sure - they're replaying the ep in a few days, and I've got the TiVo set up to record it. Stupid baseball!

So what'd you think? *bounce*

OH - is that a new icon? So cute! Poor shivering Bertie. I'll volunteer to warm him up! *mischievous grin*

Hi there! Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely record the next showing so I can see the part I missed.

I liked the episode. It wasn't one of the best episodes ever, but it was very funny, I agree. I loved Cuddy in this episode. She was great.

I was also glad to see Wilson and House acting like friends again.

Oh God, the "attica" thing. Hugh had such a punk-rock voice going on there. X)

*goes careening into capslock excitement*

THE BLADE THING! AFTER STALKER GIRL LEFT AND HE TWIRLED HIS CANE AND PUT IT IN THE BACK OF HIS JACKET LIKE BLADE. OMG THE BEST THING EVER. CANE-SWORD!HOUSE = LOVE.

*cough*

Anyway, I felt a little bad for House when he found out that stalker girl didn't really love him.

Did anyone else think of Wilson when House shouted "you can't stop our love"? ^^;;;

It seems the House/Wilson interaction is getting better. That's a huge "yay". ^_^

I actually liked this episode! *sigh* Thank God the jailbait is gone! XD An I normally dislike Cuddy, but I squeed so hard with the "I'm ovulating, let's go." line. That alone just might make me like her a little... Just not with House. ^^; Tha autistic boy was adorable, he really was...I can't explain why, but my heart warmed up fast over the little guy... Hmm, Wilson subtly tricking Cuddy into relenting and getting House's old carpet back.... Awwww...
Sky: [hugh] hugh eyesskyblue_reverie on September 28th, 2006 03:09 am (UTC)
You know, I must admit I found the jailbait disturbingly attractive in this ep. I was glad to see her go, but I was certainly watching that ass swing right along with House as she walked away! Yikes. *slaps self*

The "I'm ovulating, let's go" line was my favorite in the whole ep, and that's saying something, because there were a lot of great lines. I think it was a nice callback to the scene with Cuddy threatening to fire House, and House calling her bluff. This time, House wasn't willing to call her bluff, and I really liked the fact that we saw that he was the one who wasn't willing to "go there."

I did like the little kid. Wasn't too fond of his parents, although I'm not sure why.

Wilson tricking Cuddy at the end was fabulous. Although I don't think he was entirely lying when he told Cuddy that House needed it. I'm not sure why House needed the old carpet back, but he really did. There's something strange going on there...

I know I'm like so ZOMG late for the party, but bittorrent seems to be cruel and unusual until thursday/friday.

No worries, I'll talk to you!

I am feeling much much happier about the direction of House after this week. Even stalker chick didn't bother me so much. She was much better with her hair back for some reason. I think she looked older, and so even though they kept saying 17, it was harder for me to believe. *concedes I was in a bad place last week as well and may have completely over reacted*

I think most of us agree that House is well on the mend from a writing standpoint. And yeah, the mood that a person's in can really effect the enjoyment of an episode. You should try watching "Informed Consent" in repeats some time- you might find that you feel better about it. And I kind of liked stalkergirl better this time around too. I think the fact that she was actually a bit more...stalkerish helped, oddly enough. I think it's because I get annoyed with the sheer volume of older men/younger women relationships in entertainment, so it was great that a)House didn't really go for it and b)the girl was nuts.

Wilson is still schemeing man, but at least now he is schemeing on House's side again. and trying to make up for his transgressions by pretending to believe House has Aspberger's syndrome.

Wilson= much improved. I like scheming Wilson, I just like it a lot better when his scheming makes sense.

I think House needs the carpet because a)it is a reminder of his mortality and that he would rather be alive and in pain than dead, b) it is a reminder that there was a time when ketamine worked because it started the whole ketamine thing off, c) he still doesn't know who did it or why (presumably, they sure haven't told us if he does) and it is his file in a bottom drawer. Except I would reverse those in order of importance. Obviously JMO.

I like your theories on it. Still, I'm just hoping the the writers wont drop the story line.

One more thing about that... IN WHAT UNIVERSE DOES BLOOD DRY RED? Blood stains are brown, people. It's not hard. Say it with me, BROWN. B-R-O-W-N. Ok, moving on.

LOL, in the same universe where House is able to keep a job.

I liked autistic boy, his parents sucked. House invited Cam to sit next to him so that he could then stand up and leave her stranded and sad, he said the hair thing because her hair is very shiny and he was in an altered state, and she does have so much of it. her bangs are AWFUL but the hair itself is attractive if inappropriate on someone so skinny. The PSP eye-contact at the end was over done. Wilson's "That's a 10" was spot on though. Cuddy is my goddess. and my god I wish it was true that stalker girl hit on her and showed her the titties!

Um...moving on.

Whoever said about hickeys on her ass, oh so yes. And I actually loved how they ended it with her being ill. because that's how it made me feel. and it was loss of inhibitions and judgement, so it wasn't saying he wasn't fanciable, just that she probably wouldnt' have done more than gaze and move on otherwise.

Yes, she was definitly hot, but I didn't much like her personality, as I said above. I don't know how I felt about her illness, exactly. It seemed a little too much of an out, but at the same time, anything that kept House from sleeping with her was all right by me.

On the Casablanca subject, I didn't get the idea at all that she knew he was quoting. Her wrinkled puzzled forehead... and "What about us?" is just kind of what one would say next after his line. though it's been 15 years at least since the one time I saw Casablanca so I could be misreading teh scene.

I'm with you on this. I think that the joke was suposed to be that she didn't know that House was simply movie quoting.

Cookie Party!
I ended up making oatmeal raisin. *dodges flying tomatoes* It turned out I didn't have enough chocolate chips and I like having stuff in my cookies, so raisins seemed like the next best option. They're falling apart a bit, but they taste great! *hands you one without raisins*

What's your cookie progress report?

Look! House has a balloon! He's festive!
Sky: [j&w] cupcakes and dark!ficskyblue_reverie on October 1st, 2006 04:26 pm (UTC)
Re: Cookie Party!
Heh. That's a great icon! Quite... suggestive, in addition to being festive. *g* Wonder where he got those, um, blowing skills? *innocent look at Wilson*

I like this little J/W ficlet we have going! So definitely Aunt A. would hear Bertie making silly noises from the other room, and she'd shove past Jeeves to investigate, and find Bertie stuck in some ridiculously contorted position and demand to know what was going on. (I think he'd be fully clothed since he was just "practicing.") Jeeves would be forced to make up some excuse like... it's a new form of exercise he picked up at the Drones club, since Bertie would be utterly helpless - both unable to talk, and of course unable to come up with any decent story on the spot. *g*

Oh, I won't throw tomatoes at you for liking raisins! I just don't care for 'em myself. Still, if they're in oatmeal cookies they're tolerable, I just don't put them in when I'm baking. Which I have not yet started, since it's 9 a.m. and I just woke up. Breakfast first, then cookies in a while.

So what else are you going to be doing besides cookie party today while online? LJ stuff, or fic-writing, or icon-making, or reading J/W, or all of the above?

I'm going to try to work some more on the darkfic and see what happens. If it's just not flowing I may work on some emails that I owe people and possibly start the fluffy Christmas smut. Smutty Christmas fluff? Whatever. :)

If I figure out how to make animated icons, I'm going to try to make one for every possible situation - good morning, good afternoon, you're welcome, I love your fic, I want to shag you silly, etc. Even if I can't find him saying those things, I'll just find an appropriate facial expression or something. *g*

Oh - and I still have to make my one-photo Jeeves mood theme with the caps you made! Geez, I totally forgot about that.

Oh, the other thing that happened is that I got my laptop back from the recovery place. The good news - they were able to save my data - yay! The bad news - it cost me WAY too much money. They replaced the hard drive, so now I've got to call up Toshiba and/or Microsoft and try to get them to send me a replacement operating system disc. Joy. I'll bet I'll be on the phone all day with that. I'm not going to deal with it today. Probably next weekend. Or during the week, if I have any free time at work.
