Hi all! Just a drive-by post to share a few more pics of Asher. Everything's going well, Asher is a delight and motherhood is both wonderful and exhausting. I've had a weeklong visit from ennui_blue_lite and another one from msliz4857. Msliz took some photos - here's a few of them:

In other news, my brain has been eaten by Star Trek. I loved the new movie, have seen it several times, and have also gone back and started watching the original series. I love both of them. In the reboot 'verse, I totally ship Kirk/McCoy, but for TOS I'm all about Kirk/Spock. But I may be heading towards a Kirk/Spock/McCoy OT3 in both 'verses. Weird. I want to get back into fic writing, and I'd love to write Trek, but I am not sure when and if I'll actually work up the energy to do it.

I'm so happy to announce that Asher Antonino has arrived! He decided to come two weeks early, on June 24th at 6:03 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs, 6 oz. and is 20 inches long. He's just perfect!

Labor and delivery were fairly smooth, although of course there's always some hiccups. I'll post in more detail about it later (too tired to think right now), but for now suffice it to say that all is well with both of us!

Hi all! Just a quick update in case any of you were still wondering about me (or even remember who I am :p). I am doing great, and the pregnancy is progressing wonderfully. I am now almost 32 weeks pregnant (or about 7 months) so getting very close!

As I've said before, it's a boy, and we've now settled on the name Asher Antonino - thanks to all of you who gave feedback on that earlier!

Asher is very very active and super-strong. He loves to kick me especially hard when I'm trying to sleep. He also loves to use my bladder as a punching bag. I blame my husband for his son's tendency to be difficult. :p

That's really most of my news - other than getting ready for the baby, I'm pretty much working, eating, and sleeping, and that's about all.

How are you all, my f-list buddies (and any lurkers who stumble on this)? Hope everyone is doing well. Happy mother's day to all of you on my f-list who are moms - I already have way more respect for the institution of motherhood!

Wow, so I'm 33 now. Huh. Doesn't feel that much different than 32. :p

In another news, I'm doing well, pregnancy is still progressing perfectly. I'm up to my neck in work which is both good and bad - good from a financial sense but bad from an exhaustion sense.

I'm pregnant! I am so, so thrilled.

Many of you know that I've been trying to get pregnant forEVER (like, for years) and had a miscarriage a few years ago, which was pretty devastating. I'd been having fertility treatments and such, but then with big changes with work, moving to a new house, and other life stressors, we decided to hold off on trying for a while. Not using birth control, but not actively trying. Well, naturally, that's when I got pregnant!

I'm due July 7, 2009, so I'm officially done with my first trimester. I'm breathing a sigh of relief to get past that milestone, because it means the risk of miscarriage is much lower.

Unfortunately, pregnancy is kicking my ASS. I am tired all the time, my depression is back in full force, and until very recently I've had awful morning sickness - now replaced by awful heartburn. Urgh. Still, gift horse, mouth, so I'm trying to hang with it.

Anywho, I am sorry I haven't been around much lately, and with everything going on I probably won't be around much in the near future. I haven't written a word of fic, and my mind has just been in a totally different space lately. Still, I'm hoping that one day the fic muse comes back around.

I'd be curious for any f-listers who have kids, how you handle the balance of work/family/lj. I can't even imagine how I'm going to manage two of the three, much less all three!

Hello my dears. I know it's been months and I'm rather embarrassed to have disappeared so completely. My RL is totally crazy, to say the least, and looks to remain so for quite a while. I haven't written any fiction in months, sadly. Still, I wanted to at least pop in and say hi and let you guys know I haven't been abducted by aliens or anything. Seems like my only posts recently have been these type of apologies/popping in to say hi. Ah, well.

I did get to spend a week with the very very lovely msliz4857, and now I am hosting the effervescently wonderful ennui_blue_lite this week. We got to spend a day hanging out with the gorgeous rivers_bend and much rock band and fannish squeeing ensued.

Stuff that's being going on in my life:

1. Bought a house! (Escrow closes July 30th, pics to come soon).

2. Started my own practice (got three clients so far, w00t!)

3. Started seriously brainstorming my novel (thanks to all who have helped with that!)

4. Wrote a Harry Potter fic (Harry/Snape pre-slash with d/s - in the hands of my lovely beta now - it was actually a birthday fic for her. Yes, I made her beta her own birthday present, 'cause I'm awesome like that. :p)

5. Fell in love with Prince Nuada from Hellboy 2. (ZOMG HOT. And morally ambiguous, and graceful, and askdjf;oiawejflkjsdf. LOVE.)

6. ...I know there's tons of other stuff I'm forgetting.

What's up with all of you? I wanna know!

Oh, and by the way. If you've seen Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (or even if you haven't), you MUST go read ennui_blue_lite's fic. It's one of the best things I've ever read. Seriously.
